Each year the NAACP provides scholarships to outstanding students who display academic excellence, early signs of leadership, and a commitment to social justice. Mirroring the National Organization, our local Liberty County Branch # 5212, chartered in 1950, extends this tradition to the young people in our community. The Commitment to Education Scholarship is intended to recognize deserving graduates from Liberty County High School and Bradwell Institute. It is in good faith and stewardship that we hope to help with expenses of higher learning. The two qualifying students from both schools will receive scholarships in the amount of $1,000. Please see the attached qualifications and application packet to enter the scholarship contest.
We are happy to announce that beginning this school term 2023-24, any former Liberty County graduate who meets the requirements to apply for the scholarship and is currently pursuing a higher education will also be eligible. This scholarship will be awarded in the amount of $500 to two deserving students.
Applicants must complete and submit the application in its entirety before the scholarship deadline of Wednesday, April 3, 2024. NO partial submissions will be accepted. Incomplete or handwritten applications will automatically be disqualified.
